COMO Culinary Odyssey is a year-long journey celebrating the rich cuisine and culinary traditions of Bali. This series of events showcases signature dishes from six distinct regions – Bangli, Buleleng, Karangasem, Jembrana, Gianyar, and Klungkung. We begin in Bangli, where Chef Kadek Sugiantara curates an authentic menu of local delicacies such as Loloh Cemcem and Mujair Nyat Nyat, inspired by the region’s lush volcanic landscapes.

About Bangli

Bangli, nestled in Bali’s highlands, is a region of serene landscapes, volcanic terrains, and rich cultural heritage. Known for Mount Batur and Lake Batur, a UNESCO Global Geopark, Bangli offers a tranquil escape with cool climates and traditional charm. Its culinary offerings reflect the region’s agricultural abundance. The Bali Aga people of Trunyan village uphold ancient traditions, including their unique burial customs under the fragrant Taru Menyan tree. With its blend of natural beauty, authentic cuisine, and preserved traditions, Bangli is the perfect spotlight for the inaugural edition of the COMO Culinary Odyssey.

Sustainability

We prioritise sustainability in our restaurants and kitchens. 99 per cent of ingredients used at COMO Uma Canggu are locally sourced, which has the dual benefit of reducing transport costs and uplifting our local economy. We also engage in responsible waste management practices, diverting our food waste into compost and animal feed.
