In celebration of our 25th birthday this February, we’ve curated a list of 25 unmissable events in the London year ahead. Things to do and see that highlight where we are and what we care about from music to art and fashion.
FEBRUARY
1. Have a Taste of Tuscany at COMO Metropolitan London, where Executive Chef Giovanni Luca Di Pirro from our Italian estate, COMO Castello Del Nero, will be hosting dinner from February 17th to 26th. He will also be hosting two cooking classes on the art of pasta-making on February 19th and 26th.
2. From February to April 17th, see Francis Bacon: Man and Beast at the Royal Academy, featuring works from across Bacon’s 50-year career including paintings that will be exhibited together for the first time.
MARCH
3. Experience the sublime Tchaikovsky ballet, Swan Lake at the Royal Opera House replete with glittering designs by John Macfarlane – one of the best-loved ballets in modern history and running from March 1st to May 28th.
4. Explore Life through a Royal Lens at Kensington Palace from March 4th to October 30th, a photo exhibition of some of the most iconic images of the Royals ever taken, spanning 19th century portraits up to lesser known present-day family portraits.
5. Catch Oscar-winning Ralph Fiennes at the Bridge Theatre in David Hare’s new play Straight Line Crazy, directed by Nicholas Hytner, running from March 14th until June 18th.
6. Book tickets for Yayoi Kusama’s sold-out Infinity Mirror Rooms at the Tate Modern, which will be available for viewing again from March 31st until June 12th.
7. Make this Mother’s Day a special one by treating those you love to a COMO Shambhala treatment for mothers or mothers-to-be, valid from March 21st to 31st.
8. Learn about Life Between Islands at the Tate, which features paintings, photographs, fashion, film and sculpture by over 40 Caribbean British artists in one place until April 3rd.
APRIL
9. Run through the cherry blossoms in Kensington Gardens, starting from the blooms at Lancaster Gate. You can also make your run part of a larger plan for wellbeing with our Be Active COMO Shambhala programme, which provides a one-on-one fitness consultation, a massage and more.
10. On April 3rd, gather on the banks of the Thames to attend the annual Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race: one of the world’s oldest sporting events and one of London’s most popular. The two boat clubs have been racing since 1829 and spectating is free to all.
11. Explore the 34th annual London Art Fair – running from April 20th to 24th – where over 100 selected galleries will be showcasing the best in Modern and Contemporary art for all levels of collecting, as well as hosting talks, tours and access to expert insight.
MAY
12. Surround yourself with world-class photography, elegantly displayed at Photo London 2022, a large-scale exhibition at the landmark Somerset House from May 12th to 15th.
13. Experience the inimitable annual RHS Chelsea Flower Show – held from May 24th to 28th – where you can walk through stunning garden designs, floral displays and plants to take home.
JUNE
14. Visit the Serpentine Pavilion from June 10th until September, designed this year as a wooden ‘Black Chapel’ by American activist and artist, Theaster Gates, with an oculus and bell to create the feeling of a sanctuary amidst the green space of the Kensington Gardens.
15. Engage with the theme of ‘Climate’ at the annual Summer Exhibition where all manner of artworks by emerging talent, Royal Academicians and household names will be displayed side-by-side and available for purchase, from June 21st to August 21st.
16. Dance at British Summer Time in Hyde Park from June 24th to July 10th – just across the road from our hotel – where a host of the world’s biggest pop, rock and hip hop artists perform every year. This year’s headliner is Sir Elton John.

JULY
18. Learn about Africa Fashion at the Victoria and Albert Museum’s first-ever exhibition on the genre complete with iconic mid-20th century photographs, textiles, music and art from contemporary creatives, showcasing the global impact of a fashion scene as dynamic as the continent itself. The exhibition opens from July 2nd.
AUGUST
19. Watch Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, based on the play by John van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood, with Eddie Redmayne starring as the Emcee. Tickets can be booked with Playhouse Theatre until October 1st.
SEPTEMBER
20. Catch the Last Night of the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall on September 10th, the closing night after eight weeks of concerts, talks and workshops that began from July 30th.
21. Dress to the nines for London Fashion Week in September from the 17th to the 21st, where industry experts and the city’s most fashionable will congregate for talks, trunk shows and more.
22. From September 18th to 26th, the city of London transforms into a giant gallery during the London Design Festival, when a plethora of innovative projects will be popping up all across the capital.
OCTOBER
23. Peruse the Frieze Art Fair, which focuses uniquely on contemporary and living artists – from the emerging to the established – every year in Regent’s Park. Alongside the exhibitions, curators and galleries will lead thought-provoking talks throughout the fair, running from October 12th to 16th.
NOVEMBER
24. Check out the EY Exhibition: Cézanne at the Tate Modern, where modern masterpieces – some of which have never been seen before in the UK – will be spotlighted until March 12th 2023.
