Position: Chef de Partie - Pastry

Reporting to: Executive Chef

Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Creating a variety of pastries, desserts, bread and other baked goods (cakes, cookies, tarts, soufflés and more)
  • Developing new recipes and menu items, working closely with Pastry Chef to create innovative and high quality desserts
  • Overseeing the work of Demi Chef and Commis Chef, provide guidance and training as needed. Ensuring that all staff follow the kitchen standards and procedures
  • Ensuring that all pastry and dessert meet the restaurant’s standards for quality, taste, and presentation 
  • Managing the inventory of ingredients, ordering supplies and maintaining proper stock levels
  • Keeping the cleanliness, ensuring all the equipments and tools are properly cleaned and stored as per HACCP
  • Designing and overseeing the plating and presentation of dessert
  • Working within the budget, managing cost and minimizing waste

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of the standards of Pastry
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to quickly learn new recipes and new cooking procedures
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and cooperatively in a team environment
  • Ability to solve problems quickly
