Just 19 kilometres off the coast of Perth – but almost an entire world away – lies the sunny holiday island of Rottnest, offering visitors a casual atmosphere, picturesque scenery, dazzling animal life and some of the world's finest beaches and pristine bays.
Your day trip departs from Elizabeth Quay at 8.45am by Rottnest Express Ferry.
Snorkel in the ocean and come face-to-face with colourful sea life, or fish for big game off your boat. Meet Australia's much-loved quokkas — furry, bear-like animals that roam freely over the island.
Tour the island via the hop-on-hop-off bus, taking in the beautiful scenery along the way. Alternatively, book a 90-minute bus tour which takes you to some of Rottnest’s most spectacular locations, with insightful commentary by a knowledgeable crew along the way.
For the adventurous, hire a bicycle or electric bike and explore the island at your leisure. Your Rottnest Express ferry will depart back to Perth at 5.00pm.
There are more ferry options departing from Fremantle, should you prefer a later start. Our Concierge Team is happy to assist you with ferry timetables.
For a more indulgent option, charter a private yacht and discover the clear waters of the Western coast on your way to Rottnest Island. A private car will pick you up from the hotel and take you to your vessel at Barrack Street Jetty.
The island can be accessed by a 30-minute ferry from Fremantle, or a 15-minute helicopter flight. Our concierge can recommend the best option for your schedule.
