Little Adventures in Perth

Nestled on the shores of Yanchep lake amid coastal woodland and limestone caves, Yanchep National Park is a natural wonder. Yanchep Crystal Cave is popular family-friendly spot, view marsupials along the koala boardwalk or Western grey kangaroos which can be spotted in abundance around the park. Yanchep National Park is open 24 hours daily, with daily tours for the Crystal Cave.

Located in the former Perth Fire Station, this museum promises plenty of children-friendly fun. The old station is dedicated to emergency services past and present, and showcases the history of Western Australian fire services and a ‘natural hazards and disasters’ education gallery. There is dress-up fun for children and a real, modern fire engine to explore at the Centre. It is open from 10.00am to 3.00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, admission is free.

Explore the Perth Mint for more family fun. There is a world-class Gold Exhibition which brings the history of Western Australian gold to life. Kids will love watching molten gold being poured to form a solid bar in the original 1899 melting house. You can also view the world's largest gold bullion coin, Australia's largest natural nugget collection, a historic coin exhibition and much more during the popular tour. Open daily, The Perth Mint has specific times and limited slots for tours, so please book in advance to make the necessary arrangements.

Wembley Mini Golf is a beautifully landscaped mini-golf course and is actually a scaled-down version of a full-sized golf course. The 18-hole course includes mini sand bunkers and water hazards, with tee and hole placements catering to younger golfers. Weave through sand traps, bridges and water features with your choice of starter, intermediate or advanced holes. You will be given a golf club, a set of differently coloured golf balls (according to your player status) and a score sheet. The course has been designed for both adults and children to enjoy. Mini-golf is available between 9.00am to 8.00pm daily at Wembley Golf Course.
