Enter the season of Bunuru, the hottest part of the year with little rain. Jarrah and Marri trees bloom, along with Zamia pods. Fish, crab, and mussels form the diet, with tailer and mullet caught in shallow waters, and marron and gilgies from wetlands. Wattle, banksia blossoms, and various roots are also key food sources.
